Nicknamed the “City of Angels,” Los Angeles is one of the most well-known cities on Earth. The city sits on the southern California coast and is known for its glitz and glamour of Hollywood. The city was first inhabited by Native Americans and then by the Mexicans, who called the city El Pueblo de Nuestro Los Angeles (The Town of Our Angels). Its ideal weather transformed this desert area into the capital of entertainment that we know and recognize today.

Los Angeles is the second-biggest city in the United States, coming behind New York City. Most of the time, when someone from California refers to Los Angeles, they mean the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, which is home to 88 cities!  Some of the most popular cities include Hollywood, Long Beach, Santa Monica, and Malibu. The city also has 23 state parks and two major theme parks for you to explore and enjoy. From sightseeing and museums to surfing and hiking, there is something to do to keep you occupied for weeks.
