My Story
Ever since I was a kid, travel has fascinated me. I liked the thought of seeing all these exotic new places and discovering different ways of life and cultures across the globe. No one in my family nor one of my friends was a traveler or had the passion or inclination to travel, so this was all new to me. Alongside my love for travel, I also fell in love with foreign languages. I love being able to communicate with people in their mother tongue. I would spend so much time in my room studying and It paid off.
I know Spanish and Portuguese to a fairly proficient level, and I am currently learning French. Deciding whether to solo travel would be my turning point, but I was fearful for both my safety and the loneliness that could come with a solo adventure. I researched a bunch of different bloggers and YouTube creators to try and decide whether this was the right decision for me.
I finally got the courage to book my very first international flight to Mexico City in November of 2021. Little did I know, that the travel bug would persist in me so strongly ever since that life-changing experience, that I would try to take trips as much as I could. Soon after my Mexico City trip, I went on a week-long trip to Guatemala over spring break of 2022. This only further fed my want for travel. On my trip to Guatemala, I discovered the term backpacking.
I learned that backpacking was traversing from country to country on a budget with only a large camping backpack. This piqued my interest and later that year I went on a three-month backpacking trip in Central America. I left in June of 2022, starting in Guatemala and then heading to El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. I originally had plans to visit Belize and Panama, but strikes and gang activity re-routed my trip. It was amazing nonetheless.
That backpacking trip made me want more travel. It made me research and think of ways I can travel more. The typical two-week vacation time in the United States was not sufficient for what I wanted to see. Alongside this journey, I discovered just how much I enjoyed talking about traveling and helping fellow travelers traverse this chaotic and wonderful experience. It was then I started this blog. These life experiences, studies, and languages that I have acquired have merged to form what I think is a strong foundation in travel, and I hope that I can share as much as I can with you so you can also go see the world, whether it be by yourself, or with a group or family. Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
